GIA Publications, Inc. is seeking an Editorial Administrative Assistant to assist in the Sacred Music Editorial department. This position requires organization, flexibility, strong communication skills, and a fine attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with office administrative tasks
- Support day-to-day department operations
- Assist with maintaining and expanding the digital database
- Manage music submissions database and correspondence
- Provide administrative support for our Unbound platform.
- Participate in weekly Editorial meetings.
- Maintain regular communication via web platforms and personal interaction
- Complete other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- General knowledge of music notation, sacred and educational music, and basic musicianship
- Experience with music notation software
- Ability to learn software related to production as needed (Acumen, Adobe In-Design, Graphic Converter, Slack, DocuSign, Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite)
- Proficiency in using the Internet and web-related platforms
- Ability to work well with co-workers, composers, and other business contacts
- Ability to efficiently and effectively multi-task and work independently
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to meet time-critical production deadlines and function well under pressure
- Capacity for great attention to detail
- Capability to adapt to GIA house-style, hymnal style, etc. while maintaining flexibility and taking direction as needed
